Senior HSE Advisor with over 20 years of experience working on major construction and maintenance projects across various sectors such as onshore oil and gas, drilling, refining, civil infrastructure and manufacturing. Prior to that, Sam worked for 17 years as a trade-qualified Fitter and Turner and skilled operator in similar industries.


Sam’s specialty is in the development, implementation, assessment, auditing, and continuous improvement of site HSE management plans, policies, and procedures for major hazardous facilities. He is also highly experienced in conducting risk assessments, developing sustainable solutions, and gaining buy-in from a wide range of corporate and site-based audiences to mitigate exposures to workplace hazards, thereby improving overall HSE performance.


With his extensive industry knowledge, interpersonal skills, and collaborative approach, Sam is able to establish strong relationships with multi-discipline client and contractor interfaces, at both site and corporate levels. Sam provides clear context regarding HSE initiatives and ensures that individuals have the required resources and training to deliver high-quality workmanship, with safety being the top priority. He promotes a healthy appreciation of cultural, age, and gender diversity and remains calm and professional under pressure, making educated decisions.


Sam is also adept at guiding the development of safety attitudes towards the improvement of site safety culture and the overall achievement of Zero Harm objectives, and Incident and Injury Free (IIF) workplaces.
