Dr Tilman Rasche
Investigator/Trainer
Tilman has 30 years of hands-on experience in the Australian and International mining industry - as trained mining engineer, Mine Superintendent, Health and Safety Manager for a mine contractor, Principal Advisor Risk Management and Assurance for a large mining company, educator, researcher, and 15 years as Senior Inspector of Mines, in Queensland.
He has also led several significant mining research projects addressing key safety and health challenges of the sector, particularly around tyre and rim safety.
His forte lies in developing and implementing programmes in Health & Safety, risk management training and education, catastrophic risk management, accident investigation, business improvement, providing expert witness advice, auditing and quality assurance in this country as well as overseas operations.
He is particularly passionate about safety education, and in recent years has authored and successfully delivered a range of risk management education and training workshops and programs for Australian and international clients, particularly in India.
Tilmans’ education includes a BE Mining Engineering (University of Adelaide), MSc in Safety Risk and Reliability Engineering with Distinction (University of Aberdeen Scotland), PhD in Risk Management (University of Queensland), Diploma of Quality Auditing and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. He is also an SSE for mines and quarries with over 20 workers.
